Lighthouse School

Mrs. Marge QuinlandPRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

The new facility was officially opened on November 21. The students began wearing their new uniforms during the first week of October. New programmes are coming on line and there has been an enrolment of new students.

All this newness has brought a fresh air of delight and hope for a brighter future.

We do need and must encourage parents to become more active partners in the lives of their children. We must acknowledge that parents hold many of the keys to the success of their children. Working together in partnership with teachers and other entities that the community has to offer can only make us better.

THE LIGHTHOUSE SCHOOL

It all began in the Presbyterian Church Hall
In March ‘76 with twenty children in all,
The church was next to the lighthouse in Boatswain Bay,
Lighthouse School will always show the way.

Although at first the children were few,
As years went by the school grew and grew,
There wasn’t much room to move and play,
Lighthouse School will always show the way.

In April ‘81 we needed more space
So we packed our things and found a bigger place,
We moved to George Town one spring day,
Lighthouse School will always show the way.

lighthouse We’re now in Red Bay at the new Lighthouse School
In a beautiful building that’s really cool,
It’s big and bright and we’re here to stay,
Lighthouse School will always show the way.

We have a brand new uniform that makes us look smart,
A burgundy shirt with a lighthouse over our heart.
We feel proud to come to school each day,
Lighthouse School will always show the way.

Yes We Can is our motto here
And we try our best all through the year.
We’re thankful for all we have today,
Lighthouse School will always show the way.
